Memory Bin
What is the value of a life? A person lives and accumulates experiences and things. They die and people mourn their loss; life goes on while remnants of their existence remain. Some are cherished heirlooms and others hold meaning for as long as someone recognizes them. Items go to landfill or if lucky they get passed along or end up in the secondhand market and become part of the cycle again. Are we measured by our things or deeds? Who gets memorialized? What is memory and how is it preserved? I wrestle with the blurring of a life, its artifacts and life’s transience.
