Based on a photo that was taken for the church members’ directory at St. John’s Methodist Church in Baton Rouge, this painting shows a family grouping of my mother, older sister, and me. We are all wearing clothes made by my mother. This includes my mother’s entire outfit, my sister’s wraparound skirt and my jumper.
